In 2000, Volkswagen opened its 28-hectare Brand Experience Center next to the factory in Wolfsburg. Volkswagen enthusiasts can indulge themselves here, with various pavilions, restaurants, shops, and, of course, the Zeithaus.
The Zeithaus is a museum featuring rotating exhibitions showcasing not only Volkswagens but also other brands. During our visit, for example, in addition to the various air-cooled Volkswagen models, there was also an exhibition on Lamborghini and Bugatti.
Spanning several floors, you’ll be taken on a journey through the history of the automobile. The tour begins with the 1886 Benz Patent-Motorwagen, the Laurin & Klement Type A, and the Ford Model T.
On each floor, you’ll find a variety of Volkswagens, related models, and stunning sports cars, with the tour ending at the gift shop on the ground floor. The Zeithaus is a museum where you can easily spend a few hours!
AutoStadt also features various pavilions dedicated to Volkswagen, Porsche, Audi, and Skoda. There is also a motorsports pavilion with a large slot car track.
If you visit AutoStadt, you have to try the Volkswagen Currywurst! It’s a genuine Volkswagen Orginalteil with part number 199 398 500 A, and of course it comes with Volkswagen Ketchup, part number 199 398 500 B.
